About The Font
The Brandon Grotesque font is a great sans-serif typeface. It was designed in 2009 by the great German designer Hannes von Döhren. He designed the font based on geometric forms with optical correction for better legibility. It was published under the HvDfonts foundry. After publishing the font, it became popular and the most liked font.
In the 1920s and 30s, the basic geometric style Sans Serif font faces were quite famous. Hanna Von Dohren was a freelance graphic designer and type designer in Berlin. Before establishing the HVD Fonts Foundation, he released a couple of typefaces through Linotype, ITC, and T26. In recent years, he has also released several types of families like FF Basic Gothic, Brevia, Livory, ITC Chino, Reklame Script, etc. He also designed the Brandon Text Family, ideal for longer texts and small sizes.
The Brandon Grotesque font has six weights with matching italics. With twelve styles like thin, light, medium, regular, bold, and italic in the total font family, it has a distinct elegance due to its small x-height and restrained forms. Its weights perform admirably in any display size.
It supports approximately 81 languages and different scripts. To give the font an excellent outlook, Hannes von Döhren applied multiple concepts, from thin to black. He earned the Certificate of Excellence for this brilliant design font from the Type Directors Club NY in 2011. Brandon Grotesque is popular with designers today and is widely used for banner design, logo design, projects, paragraphical arrangements and more.
