CSS and license checks

Choose a font to inspect its embedding flags and technical structure.

What the ZIP contains

The downloaded kit contains the selected webfont formats, a font-face.css file, a small HTML test page, and a README with the conversion settings and license warning.

Subsetting safely

Subsetting can make a font much smaller, but it removes unused characters. Keep the full font for multilingual or user-generated text, and never subset when the embedded no-subsetting flag or actual license forbids it.

Questions and limits

Frequently asked questions

Are my font files uploaded?

No. Parsing, WOFF and WOFF2 conversion, subsetting, CSS generation, and ZIP creation happen inside your browser.

Does converting a font change its license?

No. Conversion does not grant new rights. Only convert, subset, embed, or redistribute a font when its actual license permits those actions.

Why can conversion be blocked?

The tool blocks a font when its OS/2 table records restricted embedding. It also disables subsetting when the no-subsetting bit is present.
