The Barlow font is a slightly rounded, low-contrast, grotesk-type sans-serif typeface. The straight-sided tilting font family was designed by Jeremy Tribby and released on 2017-11-17 through Google Fonts. Barlow takes inspiration from California’s public style; it shares qualities with car plates, highway signs, buses, and trains. 

He is an artist, designer, and programmer from California. He created the Arthouse typeface family for NBCUniversal and worked as a design technologist for plaid.

The family includes 54 manually-hinted styles in three widths and nine weights and obliques, suitable for large and small digital and print use. Also, with the variable font (GX) included, weights and widths can be customized. In addition, 451 glyphs

However, this font family is part of the superfamily and includes Semi-Condensed and Condensed, each with 9 weights in Roman and Italic. The weight and width ranges are 22–188 and 300–500, respectively. Additionally, after an update in December 2018, the font family now supports Vietnamese.

John Perry Barlow was a poet, songwriter, activist, and co-founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. He was born on October 3, 1947. The font is named in his honor.
