Breaking Bad Font

During 2008-2013, an American neo-western crime drama named Breaking Bad stirred the whole world. With its immense popularity, the font that was mostly used in the series logo also came to light. Today’s write-up will cover the Breaking Bad font, which is originally the Cooper BT Medium font.

The Cooper BT Medium font actually belongs to the Cooper Black font family. Oswald Bruce Cooper designed the Cooper Black typeface and released it in 1921 under the Barnhart Brothers and Spindler font foundry. Later, another font foundry named Bitstream expanded the original Cooper Black with variants.

There is an interesting thing regarding the tv show’s logo. In the logo, the first two letters of the two words (‘Br’ from Breaking and ‘Ba’ from Bad) are written in the style of a chemistry periodic table.

If you look closely, there are two numbers in each cubes, Br with 35 and Ba with 56. Scientifically, these two represent Bromine and Barium with their atomic numbers. Interestingly, these numbers represent the ages of the two main characters of the show, at the end of the series.

And, this font comes with 139 unique glyphs and only one style, that is regular. It features uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, special characters, and supports up to 33 languages.
