Today we are excited to introduce a special handmade font designed by a Chilean type designer. The Boho typeface by Latinotype Foundry is a script font designed and developed by Guisela Mendoza in 2014-2015. The Boho font was inspired by a bohemian girl with a free and creative spirit.
Boho is Coto Mendoza’s first script font family. It is based on gestural calligraphy and written with a Cola pen. In her previous work, Macarons, she was introduced to gestual strokes applied to font design.
The font family has 26 styles and variations. Mendoza created the font using calligraphic techniques, which gave it a handwritten look. It features a wide range of glyphs (count: 617) to create an eclectic and expressive typeface. In total, there are four subfamilies in the font family: Script, Sans, Serif, and Line. These subfamilies include variants with teardrop terminals. In addition, ornaments and dingbats are included. It has a retro feel but is still modern and up-to-date.
A “Boho font” is just an individual font, but sometimes it’s called “Boho fonts.” Because, you can also say, Boho is a font style type. Many people search for boho fonts due to their script typeface. Gellatio font, Modern Love font, etc., are examples of boho fonts. If you need help selecting the right typeface for your project, Latinotype Foundry also offers custom typeface services.
The typeface features a hand-drawn style with a relaxed, casual feel that is suitable for creative projects or use in branding. The Boho typeface comes in four different weights and can be used for a wide range of things, like advertising, print media, or web fonts.
The font is designed in a brush script style with a vintage feel. It’s suitable for logos, branding, and textiles. Mendoza wanted the typeface to be versatile and easy to use, so she designed it with many applications in mind, including signage, menus, display type, and web fonts.
The font family works well with illustrations. You can use it for hand-drawn titles and headlines. With this font family, you can get letters that look like they were handwritten.
