ITC Zapf Dingbats

About the font

One of the most widely used dingbat typefaces is ITC Zapf Dingbats. The notable German type designer Hermann Zapf created it in 1978, and the International Typeface Corporation licensed it to use in a variety of products.

Around 1000 sketches of symbols and signs were created by Zapf in 1977. From the set of ornaments and typographic elements based on the original designs, the ITC selected 360 symbols. In later years, it was known as ITC Zapf Dingbats.

The dingbats have 205 characters and 2 styles for windows. However, it has 205 glyphs and 2048 units per EM. The dingbats are horizontal, but no kerning yet offers scalability. Additionally, it has no fixed pitch as well. It is only available in one traditional style. You can find this font in two versions: 1.0 and 2.0.

Usage

Using this font on your designs and text will give them a crisp look and feel. Modern dingbats designs can be created with this typeface. This typeface can be used to create coded messages.
