The Top Gun font has gained popularity due to its association with the movie’s fantastic logo, which has a clean, legible design. Despite the fact that the original Top Gun features a classic techno-type custom logo design and there is no official font available, based on observation, the TOP GUN lettering may have been influenced by the typefaces Machine and Dex Gothic.
Due to the movie’s popularity, the designer was inspired and made some actual logos from it. You can also call them “fan-made” fonts, which are very similar to the original movie logo. Top Gun Font by Alphabet & Type® is a great alternative to the Top Gun movie logo.
