Founders Grotesk Font

Kris Sowersby of the New Zealand-based Klim Type Foundry developed Founders Grotesk, a grotesque sans-serif typeface. Classic grotesques from the early twentieth century impacted the design. One of the unique features of Founders Grotesk is its extremely tiny aperture. Founders Grotesk is not a strict revival typeface. Instead, it combines the greatest elements from previous centuries’ grotesques into a broad family intended for modern printing.

Duncan Forbes of The International Office was the inspiration for Founders Grotesk. We’d often talked about the nature and utility of traditional grotesks, as well as the idea of developing a new one.
